

| January 10, 2008: | PPFC elections were held. Nathan Fisk, Executive Director, El Paso County Republicans, spoke about the caucus process. Attorney Michael Salkind spoke on the legal consequences of using a firearm. |
| February 14, 2008: | The PPFC conducted a forum for Republican 5th Congressional candidates. Nearly 100 people attended - even on Valentine's Day! KOAA-TV and the Colorado Springs Gazette were in attendance and did stories on the forum. |
| March 13, 2008: | Spokesmen for Republican presidential candidates John McCain and Ron Paul spoke to the members on their candidates' positions. Representatives from "Victory Boxes" told us about their program that has people fill boxes with school supplies and other items for children in Iraq and Afghanistan. Several members took boxes home to fill and mail. |
| April 10, 2008: | 4th Judicial District Attorney John Newsome spoke on the state of the criminal justice system. University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) student John Davis spoke about Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC) and their upcoming "empty holster" protest. During the week of April 21st, students will wear an empty holster on campus to symbolize the fact tht they are defenseless to attack while unarmed on campus. |
| May 8, 2008: | El Paso County administrator Jeff Greene spoke on county budget concerns. |
| June 12, 2008: | Taylor Beard, member of the USA Shooting Team and Olympic hopeful, brought the member up to date on how her shooting competitions are going. She finished 8th in the 2008 Olympic trials and is competing this month in the National Championships. The PPFC members voted to donate $300 to USA Shooting for Taylor. The PPFC PAC presented checks to DA John Newsome for his reelection campaign ($200 from the PAC and $500 from the SDC). Anti-terrorism expert Joe Ruffini gave an excellent presentation on terrorism and school safety. |
| July 10, 2008: | Colorado Springs Councilman Darryl Glenn and El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa spoke on issues facing Colorado Springs and the Sheriff's Office. The downturn in the economy has put a strain on the city and county budgets impacting public safety and health. |
